DOCUMENTATION

EVERYTHING
ROVYL DOES.

How to install it, activate it, and use every part of the radial launcher.

01 / INSTALL

Rovyl runs on Windows 10 and 11. It is a desktop app: nothing runs in the browser, and nothing leaves your machine.

  1. 01Buy Rovyl on the home page. The download starts on its own once the payment clears.
  2. 02Run Rovyl.exe. The installer is per-user, so Windows does not ask for administrator rights.
  3. 03Windows may show a SmartScreen warning, because the installer is not code-signed yet. Choose More info, then Run anyway.
  4. 04Rovyl opens and stays in the tray. It is now waiting for your license key.

02 / ACTIVATE YOUR LICENSE

Your key looks like ROVYL-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. It arrives by email right after the purchase, and also appears on screen at checkout.

  1. 01Open Rovyl. The wheel stays locked until a key is entered.
  2. 02Paste the key and confirm. Activation is instant.
  3. 03One license covers up to 3 devices.

Lost the key? Use LOST YOUR LICENSE KEY? on the home page. With the transaction ID from your Paddle receipt it is shown on screen immediately; with only your email, it is sent to that address.

03 / USING THE WHEEL

The whole product is one gesture: hold the trigger, aim, release. There is no window to manage and no list to scroll.

  1. 01Hold the middle mouse button anywhere in Windows. The wheel blooms under your cursor.
  2. 02Move toward the shortcut you want. The slice under your aim highlights.
  3. 03Release. The target opens and the wheel disappears.

Aiming reads the live pointer rather than the highlighted slice, so releasing mid-movement always opens what you are pointing at the moment you let go.

The centre
A dead zone. Release there to cancel — or bind it to an app, a widget or a shortcut under Interface settings.
Drag distance
How far you move before the wheel commits to opening. Raise it if the wheel shows up when you only meant to click.
Escape
Closes the wheel without launching anything.

04 / ADDING SHORTCUTS

A shortcut is anything you want one gesture away. Rovyl takes three kinds.

Local application
Any installed program or executable. The real icon is extracted for you, Microsoft Store apps included.
Web link
Any http or https address, opened in your default browser.
Folder
Any Windows directory, opened in Explorer.

Open Settings → Shortcuts, choose Add Shortcut and pick the type. Icons are detected automatically, and any of them can be replaced with your own image.

05 / IDE SHORTCUTS, RECENT FOLDERS & COMMANDS

A shortcut to an editor can do more than open the editor. Rovyl can hang your recent projects off it as a sub-menu, so one gesture lands you inside the codebase you were in yesterday — with a terminal already running in it.

These options are per shortcut, not global. To reach them, open Settings → Workspaces, hover the shortcut you want and click the config icon that appears on the right of the card. That opens Shortcut Config.

Enable Recent Folders
Adds a sub-menu of recent projects to that shortcut. Aim at the editor on the wheel and the projects fan out from it. When no recent folder is found, the entry simply opens the app as usual.
Terminal in folder
When you open a project from that sub-menu, Rovyl also opens a terminal already inside the project folder. No cd, no wrong working directory.
Quick Access (Folders)
Folders you add by hand. Use it for projects the editor has not listed yet, or ones you always want pinned regardless of how recently you touched them.
Terminal Commands
Commands that run automatically in that terminal when the project opens — npm start, for instance. Add as many as you need; they run in order.

06 / WORKSPACES

A workspace is a separate wheel. Keep one for daily use, one for a project, one for streaming — each with its own shortcuts, so the wheel never turns into a drawer.

Create them under Settings → Workspaces. With the wheel open you can switch between them two ways, chosen in that same tab.

Number keys
Press 1 through 9 while the wheel is open to jump straight to that workspace.
Wheel picker
Pick the workspace from the wheel itself, with an icon you choose.

07 / SETTINGS

Everything is live: changes reach the wheel as you make them, with no restart and no save-and-reload cycle.

Interface & Control
The global keyboard shortcut, the mouse trigger, start with Windows, what the centre does, whether the wheel follows the cursor or opens at screen centre, and the interface language.
Visuals
Wheel diameter, icon size, spacing between shortcuts, glass effect, accent colour, shortcut labels, and the drag distance before activation.
HUD
Optional on-screen information — clock, battery, weather — and which screen corner each one takes.
Focus protection
Keeps the wheel out of the way while you are in a fullscreen app. Apply it to any fullscreen window, or only to the apps you list.
Profile
Identity, plan, license status, backup and session.

The interface ships in 10 languages: Portuguese, English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Korean and Russian.

08 / THE TRIGGER

By default the wheel opens on the middle mouse button. Three options are available under Interface settings.

Middle button
The default — the scroll wheel pressed down.
X1 and X2
The side buttons, on a mouse that has them.
Keyboard shortcut
A global hotkey, if you would rather not use the mouse at all.

09 / UPDATES

Rovyl checks for updates on its own and never interrupts you with a dialog. When one is ready a badge appears on the hub of the wheel, and Settings → Advanced offers the restart whenever it suits you.

Updates are free for the life of your license. No subscription, no renewal.

10 / TROUBLESHOOTING

SmartScreen blocks the installer
Expected — the build is not code-signed yet. Choose More info, then Run anyway. It is the same file published on the public GitHub release, where its checksum is listed.
The wheel does not open
Check the trigger under Interface settings. If another tool already captures the middle button, move Rovyl to X1, X2 or a keyboard shortcut.
The wheel opens when I only meant to click
Raise the drag distance under Visuals. The wheel then waits for a deliberate movement before committing.
The wheel shows up over my game
Turn on Focus protection, then either hide it for any fullscreen window or list the specific games.
My recent projects do not show up
Open the project in the editor once, so it lands in the editor's own recent list, then reopen the wheel. If it still does not appear, add the folder by hand under Quick Access in that shortcut's config.
An icon looks wrong
Rovyl picks the cleanest icon it can find and rejects the ones with a white halo. If one still looks off, replace it with your own image on that shortcut.
I want to start over
Settings → Profile → Reset clears every setting and restarts the app. It cannot be undone.
